Matte Mandarin is a shade that I wanted really, really badly. It is a beautiful and very intense shade of orange that looks absolutely lovely with tanned skin. Similar shades: all the orange shades I own are either redder or pinker!

The packaging is quite quirky I would say. It does not feel posh or sophisticated (read: like Chanel) although it looks like a high end one but with £18 price tag for each lipstick maybe the packaging should feel a little bit more special? I remember when Clinique lipsticks used to be more affordable but with such a high price tag they are now starting to compete with brands where the packaging really matters... What do you think? The Clinique Long Last Soft Matte Lipstick (such a long name lol!) lasts for hours but fortunately it doesn't dry out your lips. It is very soft indeed - a pleasure to apply. I would not say it has 100% matte finish but probably something between matte and velvet, which I quite like. The lipstick is very pigmented and a two swipes are enough for opaque finish. To summarise, the lipstick is a pleasure to use and if you have spare £18 I would say go for it and you won't be disappointed! I cannot wait to get my hands on all the other shades, especially matte plum! Love, A. xxx
