Mac Apres Chic Mineralize Eye Shadow in Winter Pursuit, Frost at Midnight and Fireside

Mac Apres Chic Mineralize Eye Shadow in Winter Pursuit
Mac Apres Chic features five eyeshadows: Ice, Winter Pursuit, Silver Birch, Frost at Midnight and Fireside. All limited edition (and thanks for that!...).
Right, but before I go into detail shall we start from the beginning?
Winter Pursuit is a very glittery gold copper shade with silver veins. It looks golden brown when applied. It has very metallic finish. Very wearable shade. This is the most intense out of three. Hard to transfer from your fingernail you're your skin, even harder with a brush. Had to put on a few layers for the colour to show up. Once you get through all of this, it looks okay on your skin.

Frost at Midnight is greyish darkened purple with blue veins. It has the worst colour pay off out of three and it is the most difficult shade to work with out of three. Transferability from your fingernails onto your skin = close to zero. After a few layers it was still see through – not what I would expect from mineralize eye shadows, especially at that price point.

Fireside looks quite berry-ish in the pan with a bit of brown but once applied it is just brown. Nicely pigmented but again, had to put in a lot of effort for the colour to shop up on the skin.

All of them very pretty to look at and … that is about it. I had difficulties with ALL three shades: all of them were hard to transfer onto the eye lid, there was a GREAT amount of colour fall out, they were hard to apply and I won’t even mention blending because the shadows just disappeared (some more than others).
The staying power was pretty similar in all three instances: they lasted much longer with a primer than without. After about 6 hours it still looked okay-ish although faded quite well and the crease was noticeable. Without the primer: that’s a different story… After 2 hour mark, the shades started to fade significantly and slightly creased. (bare in mind I have oily skin) After 6 hours it didn’t look half as good as the one with the primer, the crease was very noticeable and it faded considerably. To sum it up, it’s lower than average result when it comes to lasting power and I am quite disappointed.

Overall, they might look pretty but I do not buy products just to look pretty. I wanted them to work well and these eyeshadows did not do that. I regret getting them and if I could I would take them back without any hesitation!... :S A. xxx
